Visitors to the AVID stand at BSAVA this year were the first to see the new app for Android and Apple smartphones and tablets.

The new app shows how AVID is using the latest technology to offer additional services to veterinary practices, dog wardens and rescue centres in the UK.

Since the launch of instant MicroChip registrations several years ago through practice management systems using VetXML and our bespoke registration website, AVID has seen a surge of clients registering pet MicroChips electronically. The release of the new app is yet another way in which AVID is saving customers both time and money. And with the increase in smartphones and tablets, it makes it even more accessible.

Feature packed

The main focus of the app is the MicroChip registration process, featuring an option to be able to scan the MicroChip barcode number to reduce errors, and a rapid address entry function to speed up the registration process.

But it doesn’t just facilitate MicroChip registrations, it also has a MicroChip search facility for when you find a stray or need to check keeper details. The MicroChip search function will return keeper details, pet information and also whether a pet is reported as missing to the UK PETtrac Database. The app will also help identify with which database a pet MicroChip should normally be registered

Reports at your finger tips

If you have ever wondered how many pet MicroChips you implant then this section is for you. The app can give you statistics on the number of pets you have implanted, break down by species and also how many pets have been found thanks to MicroChips which you have implanted.

How do I find out more?

The app is now available for download for Android phones, and the Apple version to be made available shortly.

If you would like to be one of the first to use it please call us on freephone 0800 652 7 977 and we’ll let you know when it’s available.
