More than 5000 votes already cast in Master Groom 2014 Liz Paul Awards London, United Kingdom, April 4, 2014 – More than five thousand votes were cast in less than 48 hours across ten categories of the annual Aesculap Liz Paul Awards, to be presented at the Master Groom 2014 Gala Dinner on Saturday April 26th.
Voting opened on Wednesday April 2nd at 930pm. By Friday morning the total vote count had surpassed 5150.
“It is very exciting to see this level of engagement in our industry,”
said Colin Taylor, founder of the Awards and of the international dog grooming competition, Master Groom. “My congratulations to all the nominees. They deserve this recognition.”
“The energy of this year’s vote, right out of the gates, demonstrates that we care passionately about recognition for the right people, products, businesses and organisations. The fact that nominees are voted for directly by their peers or customers makes it that much more meaningful.”
The Awards, sponsored by Aesculap, cover ten categories including, but not limited to: UK Groomer of the Year, Best Product of the Year, Best Supplier of the Year, Congeniality Award, Best Training School of the Year, Best Non-Profit Organisation of the Year.
The Liz Paul Awards are named in honour of the late, iconic, award-winning dog grooming champion, who died in 2006. Liz Paul was born in Britain but grew up in the United States and competed successfully with Groom Team USA.
Voting is open to active members of the dog grooming industry. All short-listed nominees on the ballot can be seen online at www.mastergroom.org/lizpaulawards.
The annual international dog grooming competition is sponsored by Red Cape, Christie’s Direct, Simpsons and Aesculap. It is a two-day event plus Gala Dinner held at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire on Sat 26 – Sun 27 April 2014.
