Supporters of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home can now purchase limited edition art prints, featuring illustrations from the pen of Jason Chapman as well as vintage images from the Home’s archives.
The animal rescue charity has teamed up with Manchester-based Generation Gallery to release the series of artwork. The vintage images include heart-warming images of some of the dogs and cats that have passed through Battersea’s gates since the Home was founded in 1860. Some of these have been recreated by painter Trevor Mitchell. In addition there are also a series of modern illustrations inspired by Battersea’s animals.
Royalties from the range will go to support the work of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home which makes these art prints from the ideal gift for all dog and cat lovers.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Battersea to bring their fantastic archive of images to a new audience. It is a fantastic collection with a variety of pieces to suit all tastes and we are expecting it to be a real hit.” – Robert Marks, Gallery Manager.
Battersea Operations Manager Lindsey Quinlan added: “Battersea has a wonderful archive of images covering its rich history, so we are sure they will be immensely popular with dog and cat lovers. There are some beautiful images in the collection which would make perfect gifts, and the sale of each image will help us care for the thousands of dogs and cats who need our help each year.”
The collection will be unveiled to the public at CRUFTS this March and can be seen at http://www.generationgallery.com/studio-art-c1/battersea-dogs-cats-home-c77
