Update from the Pet Industry Federation
Time is running out for learners who are currently registered with City & Guilds for the Level 3 7763 Dog Grooming qualification to re-register, or start a new registration, in order to complete the qualification and become a fully qualified professional groomer.
Registration or re-registration for the City & Guilds 7763 Level 3 qualification closes on the 31 August 2017. Beyond this date, candidates will no longer be able to register to undertake the qualification.
All learners will have had three years from the date of registration to complete the Level 3 7763. This three-year period allows completion of both the Introductory and Diploma parts of the qualification.
Existing leaners who expire on or before 31 August 2017 and wish to complete the full qualification (Diploma for Professional Dog Stylists) can extend their registration by re-registering by the 31 August 2017. Please note, City & Guilds will NOT allow you to re-register for the Level 3 7763 until your registration has expired.
If your City & Guilds registration expires before 31 August 2017, then you can re-register and give yourself a further three years to complete it.
Existing learners who expire after 31 August 2017 should maximise the remaining time of their registration and begin working towards the exams. Should additional time be required it is possible to have two separate registrations running simultaneously. Learners would be required to start a new registration for the same qualification before 31 August 2017. There is a difference in cost between re-registration and a new registration so please bear this in mind when considering this option.
Please be aware that the number of schools and colleges offering the Introductory part of the Level 3 7763 qualification will diminish after 31 August 2017, and therefore so will the number of venues offering the Diploma exam.
PIF remains committed to supporting learners through their full qualification. We have therefore added a significant number of additional exam dates and venues throughout 2017, and into 2018/19, for the Level 3 7763 Diploma practical exams.
We expect many of the PIF Training Schools to offer the new City & Guilds 7863 Level 3 Diploma after 31 August 2017. After 31 August 2017, learners will lose the option of undertaking the Level 3 7763 qualification. In order to achieve a C&G Level 3 qualification the Level 2 City & Guilds Dog Grooming Assistant qualification (a pre-requisite for the new 7863 Diploma) must first be completed before progressing on to the City & Guilds 7863 Level 3 Dog Grooming Diploma. This will then be the easiest way to progress even further and do the PIF Higher Diploma.
